Reflection 1B

For me, Nicola Tesla is one of the most outstanding inventors throughout history. He was born into a Serbian family. He moved to the United States in the later periods of his life. He owns hundreds of patents. Today, most things we own from razors to washing machines can be attributed to his genius. He is the founder of the alternated current of electricity.  In addition to this, he discovered a way to wirelessly transmit electrical energy. To sum up, I think that he should gain more fame for his many inventions.

Reflection 1A

Hello everyone, my name is Enes Sarıbaş. I am writing this from Middle East Technical University in Ankara. This is my first year in the English language teaching program in the department of foreign language education. I was born in Massachusetts, which is one of the coldest states in the United States. My family and I moved to turkey permanently when I was seven years old. Since then, I have been living in Zonguldak, where I come from. Zonguldak is a port town in the part of the black sea.  The weather there is a lot warmer and has less temperature variation.  Now I’m freezing. I hope to get used to it in time without getting ill. To get back to myself, I will discuss my hobbies.  I like listening to audiobooks. I love solving computer and technological problems. I like to meet new people. I love nature. What I like most about nature is animals, particularly cats. I like to pet and feed the cats in the campus. My favorite lessons are contextual grammar and listening and pronunciation.  I like the logical structure of grammar. I enjoy hearing different accents and recognizing them. My future plan is to become an English teacher in a high school in Ankara. I want to teach them grammar in context. I want to teach them how to acquire proper listening and pronunciation skills. When I become an English teacher, my exam format will be like the TOEFL, including the four skills.
I am looking forward to hearing from you. Don’t hesitate to write to me.

A Reflection on Robin Sharma Chapter 13

The author views success as a means for a peaceful life. He believes that we can be successful by doing our best rather than competing with each other. He claims that we are so preoccupied with competition that we are more focused on trying to succeed than succeeding. I agree with the author on his ideas regarding success. We should do our best to succeed but we shouldn't be jealous of others' success.  There will always be someone who is better than you. For instance, during my high school years, I was probably one of the best students in English. However, when I entered the university exams, there were many students who were ahead of me. To summarize, we should do our best, but not be jealous of others' success.
